Connie Willis is the award-winning author of “Doomsday Book,” “To Say Nothing of the Dog,” “Bellwether,” “Lincoln’s Dreams,” “Passage,” “Crosstalk,” and her two-volume time-travel novel about World War II: “Blackout,” and “All Clear.”

Her most recent novel is “The Road to Roswell,” a light-hearted novel about alien abduction set in the Southwest.

Other recent books include “All Seated on the Ground,” “D.A.,“ “inside Job,” “Take a Look at the Five and Ten,” “All About Emily,” her short story collections, “The Winds of Marble Arch and Other Stories,” and “The Best of Connie Willis, and a novelette about a mysterious bookshop called “I Met a Stranger in an Antique Land. order.

She has won more Nebula and Hugo writing awards than any other science fiction author and is the first author to ever have won both the Nebula and Hugo in all four writing categories. Her novels “Doomsday Book,” “To Say Nothing of the Dog,” “Blackout” and “All Clear,” have all won both the Nebula and Hugo Awards for Best Novel.

Connie is currently working on a new time travel novel about the Oxford historians set in Tintern Abbey, Oxford, and London on Westminster Bridge and involving Lewis Carroll, Alice Liddell, Dorothy Parker, the Inklings, Einstein, and Percy Bysshe Shelley.

Ms. Willis is also famous for her award-winning short stories, such as “Fire Watch,” “The Last of the Winnebagos,” “Even the Queen,” “Death on the Nile,” “At the Rialto,” and “The Soul Selects Its Own Society.” Her work ranges from laugh-out-loud funny to deadly serious and encompasses romantic comedy, tragedy, time travel, near-death experiences, fads, telepathy, the TITANIC, the Rockettes, Emily Dickinson, Hollywood, and everything in between.

She is especially fond of Christmas and has written many science-fiction and fantasy Christmas stories, including “Take a Look at the Five and Ten,” “Inn,” “Just Like the Ones We Used to Know,” “Miracle,” “All Seated on the Ground,” and “Epiphany.” Many of her stories have been collected into two collections: MIRACLE AND OTHER CHRISTMAS STORIES and A LOT LIKE CHRISTMAS. She was especially honored to be asked to edit the Library of America’s AMERICAN CHRISTMAS STORIES.

Willis is a SFWA Grand Master of Science Fiction and a member of the Science Fiction Hall of Fame. She has won a number of other awards, including, the Inkpot Award, given by Comicon, and the Legacy Award. She was named Best Science Fiction Author of the Nineties by LOCUS Magazine.

She lives in Greeley, Colorado with her husband, a retired physics professor. She has one daughter, Cordelia, who is a forensic scientist for the San Jose Crime Lab and who does lots of community theater. Connie Willis loves screwball comedies, Shakespeare, Dorothy Parker, the television series PRIMEVAL, church choirs, chocolate, Fred Astaire, Mark Twain, Thornton Wilder, and Harrison Ford, not necessarily in that order.
