Student design competition for a proposed Arthur C. Clarke Center for Imagination and Opportunity

In June 2005, the Arthur C. Clarke Foundation and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, sponsored a student competition to create designs for a proposed Arthur C. Clarke Center for Imagination and Opportunity. The Center, a joint undertaking of the Foundation and UNLV to be located near the university, will build on Clarke’s extraordinary legacy in the arts and sciences to stimulate the imaginations of students and all those young of mind.

The design competition, conducted by the UNLV School of Architecture, drew three teams, each working over ten days. The charge was to "imagine" a building that reflected the special mission of the proposed center and Clarke’s unique creative talents. A team of professional architects evaluated the student results and awarded “Team B” top honors.

Selections from each team’s effort are presented here.
